Let re:fit keep you balanced and agile

The exercise of Pilates mirrors the straight lines of a geometric shape. Developed in the early 1900s, Pilates intrigued worldwide exercise enthusiasts and professional athletes due to its unique philosophy and practicality. Pilates uses the five parts of the mind (intelligence, imagination, memory, intuition, and will) to develop and enhance strength, flexibility, control, and alignment. The method includes over 600 apparatus and mat exercises which enhance core stabilizing muscles. By resisting springs on the apparatus and your own body weight on the mat, movement becomes more natural and functional. Practicing Pilates improves posture and energy while helping to treat injuries. Users gain strength, range, function, flexibility, and the ability to perform activities of daily living. As founder Joseph Pilates described, “Good posture can be successfully acquired only when the entire mechanism of the body is under perfect control. Pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace, and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, play, and work.” Re:fit offers private, duet, and triplet Pilates sessions, as well as mat classes and group sessions.

Oov at Refit

The Oov™ is a unique apparatus that can be used alone or in conjunction with Pilates or a physical therapy session. The three-dimensional foam contours to your body, guiding your inner senses to balance from within. The Oov opens space between joints and nullifies improper movement habits, allowing healthy patterns to take hold. It activates core stabilizing muscles while also gently extending the spine to stimulate healthy intervertebral disc lubrication. The Oov has been praised for its revolutionary design. The contour, foam density, and purposeful instability work together to improve reflexes, tone, and control.

Gyrotonic at Refit

The GYROTONIC Expansion System® is a circular movement exercise that mirrors the curves and arches of a geometric shape. The GYROTONIC® form offers similar benefits derived from dance, yoga, swimming, and Tai Chi. This exercise simultaneously stretches and strengthens muscles and tendons while also articulating and mobilizing the joints. Arcs, circles, and spirals are performed in the joints throughout the body while corresponding breathing patterns are engaged. This combination of movement and breath, done in fused and transverse planes, increases coordination, endurance, and aerobic activity. GYROTONIC® exercise, with its diagonal spirals, is particularly effective for clients with scoliosis.
